Miami welcomed new luxury apartment living to it’s river banks this past November, when the Pier 19 Residences and Marina celebrated their grand opening at 1951 Northwest South River Driver. The 21-story building, once called River Oaks Tower and Marina, is now home to 199 apartments, 370-space parking garage and a private 10-slip marina.
The multi-million dollar renovation is the work of developer Lisette Calderon’s Neology Life and a silent business partner, after their purchase of the property in mid-September for $61 million. Calderon is no stranger to the Miami River District, having developed a number of properties over the last 15 years including the Neo Lofts, Wind by Neo and several others.
After being built in 2011 as condominiums, the property was victim to the economic downturn and fell into disrepair during foreclosure. It then became overgrown and was only being used at half-capacity as vacation rentals with obstructed views. Calderon and her partner were able to see the potential still left in the property and worked for the last year to buy it for renovation purposes.
Each apartment features floor-to-ceiling windows with views of the city and the Miami River, walk in closets, glass railed balconies, stainless steel appliances and space to entertain with 1-3 bedrooms and between 720-1246 square feet options available. Along with the 10-slip marina, amenities include: a pool, hot tub, grill area, dog park, river walk and a wellness center. The building also features a multi-use club room, a lounge, 24-hour concierge, theater suite and a business center to serve any and all resident needs. The new renovations are a welcome update the Miami River living and will help to revive the area.
